Gustavo Martín Benites Gálvez is a Peruvian director, screenwriter, and producer based in Chicago, IL. With over a dozen short films under his belt as director, his work has been screened at film festivals around the world and featured on the popular short film website Filmshortage.com.
Gustavo's quirky short documentary "Fupa", has had great success in underground film festivals around the country, including; Boston Underground Film Festival 2020, Atlanta Underground Film Festival 2021, and Midwest Weirdfest 2021 - where it was awarded “Best Documentary Short”.
"Breathe", a short script written by Gustavo, was a finalist at Scriptapalooza 2021 and a Quarter-finalist at Hollyshorts 2021.
"American Underdog", a feature script he co-wrote, was a quarter-finalist at Final Draft's Big Break 2021.
When not working on personal films, Gustavo contributes his talents to the ever-growing Chicago film industry as a Location Scout on feature films, television, and commercials. His most recent credits include the films Candyman and The Last Shift, as well as the TV shows Proven Innocent, and Batwoman.
